A Different Style Fabric Bowl

Just like it says on the can: I used a different technique to make a fabric bowl today.

The inside of a square blue, green, and off-white floral print fabric bowl. The bowl has seams from the bottom to the corners, and the edge has a green and blue binding around it, like a quilt.

The outside of a square blue and green, abstract print fabric bowl. The bowl has seams from the bottom to the corners, and the edge is bound like a quilt, with the same blue and green fabric.

This one is made with seams at the darts, instead of satin stitching holding the fabric together. This technique is from Kirsten Fisher’s book, Modern Fabric Art Bowls. In some ways, I found this method to be somewhat more fiddly than the other method I used before. In some ways, it’s easier. I’ll see if I can adapt this technique to other shapes and forms.

One thing is certain: this technique uses far less thread than the other! So, that’s a win!
