I tried a new project today. I got it sewn together, planning to leave an opening so it could be used as a box. Unfortunately, I had the measurements wrong and it came out too short.

A red fabric box in the shape of a pyramid. This is a work in progress (WIP). The outside of the box is a dark red fabric with tiny pink, yellow, and blue print flowers. The open side is tucked into the top, keeping it mostly closed. Through one corner the inside fabric shows through, a blue floral print. The box is edged with white satin stitching all the way around each side, and around the 4-sided base.

I wanted to make a pyramid-shaped box with similar proportions to the Great Pyramid at Giza. It helps – a LOT – if you can do math when designing something like this.

Obviously, I got the proportions VERY wrong here. It’s way too short and squat for what I wanted.

Now that I have the CORRECT proportions, I’ll try again. But I’ll likely wait until this storm is done. Or tomorrow. Most likely tomorrow.
