Hello again! Surprisingly (or not), I was able to make another fabric bowl/dish/tray with some of the leftover fused fabric and unfused scraps. I guess this is another trinket tray, albeit a different shape.
This tray measures 10″ x 5″ flat (before cutting and sewing the darts in the corners), and uses the same fabrics as the other projects in this line.
Because it was already fused to the interfacing, it took very little time at all to make; less than an hour. And I found some lightweight double-sided fusible interfacing at my local Walmart, so I was able to use that instead of trying to glue the little rectangles in place.
I will say, these little projects take a LOT of thread, but very little fabric. I see many, many more of these in my future. Which means I also need to find a source for more thread. I might also try machine embroidery thread, instead of quilting thread. That would have more shine, and be a nice accent for the pieces.
I’m not entirely convinced that I like this version, and feel like I could improve on the design a bit just by moving the darts a little. I might try that with the next iteration of samples.
I still have a small 5″ square of fused fabric left from this project. I might make one more tiny bowl today or tomorrow. It shouldn’t take much time, and should be relatively easy. Pretty sure I have enough thread. 😉
