New Work

It took me about 10 hours today, but I got 2 new fabric bowls done. It was kind of frustrating, to be honest. Things just did not go well. The first one turned out a bit wonky, but the second one is nice.

Here’s the first one. I’m not happy with it, and I’m especially bummed because it was supposed to be a gift. I’ll probably have to order more fabric (it’s my design and I get it printed through Spoonflower). But I do love the back/bottom/outside (which is not my design) on this one!

A photo of the inside of a fabric bowl. The fabric has a black background with a green, teal, and blue fractal image in the center. The fractal is round, and is surrounded by rounded, bumpy lines arranged in a squared off pattern. The bowl is a square shape overall. The back edge is uneven. The bowl is bound by trim in a blue, green, teal batik fabric.

A photo of the back, or bottom, or outside of a fabric bowl. The fabric is a blue, green, and teal batik print, which looks sort of mermaidy. The bowl is upside down, is square in shape, and is trimmed with a matching batik fabric binding.

And here’s the second one. I’m not quite sure why this one came out so much better than the first one. For one thing, it’s larger. It also has more piecing on the inside than the other one. Maybe the larger size just makes it easier to get around? I have no idea.

The fractal is rounded, with rounded, knobby lives surrounding the central circle. The colors in the fractal pattern are green, teal, and blue, and match the other fabric. The bowl is square in shape overall, and the edge is bound in a black fabric.

It’s been a while since my last sewing project. We’ve been busy trying to clear out the back acre of our property, and it’s a lot of work. Today was mostly rainy, so I took the time to make these. I hope you like them!
