I’m trying to get motivated to make some more Christmas presents, and get them finished up and ready to send out in time to arrive for the holidays. Unfortunately, this is very hard for me this year for some reason. What is this all about?
I actually prefer making presents for those I love, rather than sending gift cards or money, or even edible arrangements. I just think it’s more “special” when a gift is made with love by someone you know, who took the time to consider your personality and preferences.
Then again, there is the time factor involved in making gifts. As a busy working mom, with 2 teenagers and 3 dogs at home, perhaps I should support local artists who make gifts and sell them as a full time job. After all, when it comes down to it, if I were to charge as much for my crafting time as I get paid at my “day job”, I’d never be able to sell a thing, as it would become too expensive for anyone to buy.
Maybe I need to make something other than what I had planned… Perhaps if I get the creative juices going again, I’ll be more inclined to create.
